HouseHusband?

Can househusband replace housewife? This is the thought for many people when they see a man doing house chores and raising the kids while their partner goes to earn the family income. It is best to describe househusband as a man who stays at home and clean the house, taking care the children while his wife goes to work to earn money for the family. There are lots of question occurs in the society when they sees them which are, “why can he let his wife working while he stays at home? how can he replace the women responsibilities? “.

In my opinion, being a househusband is actually a tough job for a man. Where, a job that can be done without a doubt from a woman. This is because the tasks in the house would never stop even it is time to sleep especially for children case. A man would ask his wife to get up from sleep in the early morning to look up the child and that’s natural. Society would affirm that there is something wrong with the man which his wife is making more money for the family living. Either he is incapable to work or feels that it is not his responsible.

In sensitivity manner, masculine identity of the man, how to tell this. This becomes shaky when the wife is doing all the husband responsibility. This condition may equalize, if not overrun, male superiority, power, and authority.

Stereotyping

Stereotyping is one of the problems in intercultural communication. It is generally defined as exaggerated generalizations associated with a categorizing system; they go beyond the facts at hand and make claims that usually have no valid basis. In a simply way, it is a claim that is not a fact and not true. Marginalized groups are groups of people which often being stereotype. They are poor people, the black people among white, people who don’t talk the language of theirs. These people are being stereotype because of their behavior don’t seems familiar among others. Most people didn’t like the way they behave.

People stereotype because of many reasons. Their curiosity of others different behavior, people are unable or unwilling to obtain all of the information we need to make a fair judgment about people or situations so that is why stereotype is something hard to avoid. For example, in one investigation people stereotyped black people after only one observation of a negative behavior called vandalism. It means that they look and see all black people are doing vandalisms. Thus, people just stereotype based on only a small matter.

Expectations towards the subject

Critical Literacy, when I first heard the name of subject while I was in Semester 3 and was told that we are going to learn the subject in Semester 4, all I thought was the subject would be so hard as it comes to critical thinking. My expectations towards the study would be as we use all of our rationality and self-awareness in evaluating and finding the implicit meanings for some extracts or sentences that will be given. According to my seniors’ comments, as they have experienced the study, they said that critical literacy is quite hard for scoring marks for assignments given. That was from them who sees the subject as it is really hard. But for some of my seniors, they said critical literacy actually is a fun subject. This is because, the study requires our different ways of thinking and we rarely to use those in our daily life. So, it must be interesting for us to use the whole part of our brain as it is not moving for that many times. When I have heard all of those statements from the seniors, I believed that the subject is not so hard because I love different things and to differ things.

Therefore, my hope for the subject as I have just started is I can learn so many methods in critically thinking and evaluating statements.
